Fun Fact

In the early 1600s, the Tokugawa shogunate issued a decree banning the brewing and consumption of beer. The ban was enacted to prevent samurai from becoming drunk and disorderly. But the samurai were clever. They started brewing their own beer in secret. And soon, there were more samurai breweries than there were samurai.
